On Friday 18 September we celebrated the opening of Quinkan Country & Ngurbay/To Go Home with a breakfast with supporters and partners.
The exhibition celebrates the unbroken and enduring connections between Country, Culture and Community across Far North Queensland. The gallery features three distinct spaces, two of which are now open to the public. The third gallery space will open later this year.
The exhibition spaces highlight works from the Queensland Museum Collection as well as immersive experiences intended to bring Brisbane audiences closer to the world-renowned Quinkan Rock Art site in the Cape York Peninsula.
We would like to thank you for your support of the work that we continue to do to bring these significant stories to Brisbane audiences. We would also like to thank the Laura Community for their generosity of spirit; it is their willingness to share their culture with the world that enabled this gallery to come to life.
