Lost Giants to Living Legends is a perfect choice. Croc! invites families to step back in time, and dive deep into the fascinating world of crocodiles through interactive exhibits, activities, games, fun facts, fossils, and giant models.

Here are ten of the most family-friendly exhibits and activities you won’t want to miss:

1. Ancient Giants – Meet Sarcosuchus the ancient Supercroc:
Discover a life-sized model of Sarcosuchus,  a 130-million-year-old crocodilian that once ruled prehistoric waterways and dined on dinos for breakfast. This 10m long giant takes you on a journey back in time, when ancient giants roamed Earth, and evolved over millions of years. Use a mix of scientific information and your wild imaginations to spark kids’ curiosity of a time eons ago.

 2. Interactive Exhibits:
Discover amazing details about the crocs of today with interactive exhibits that open a world of knowledge and insights. Use the touchscreens at the croc skull wall to discover where the 26 known species of crocs around the world live, what they eat, how big they grow and more. Find out about the differences between Australia’s two species, Saltwater Crocodiles and Freshwater Crocodiles by using the touchscreen to learn about their body parts. Discover more interactive activities throughout Croc! to inform and entertain kids for ages.

3. Touch and feel your way through Croc!
We welcome kids to touch and feel their way through Croc! Any object with a crocodile paw sticker on it can be touched, giving kids the chance to know what crocodile skin and teeth really feel like, and enhance the experience of learning about crocodiles

4.  Croc Bites – fun croc facts everywhere!
Little hatchings should keep an eye out for the Croc Bite signs with fun and interesting facts about crocs that kids will love sharing with friends and family. Make a game of it using our Croc Families Map to find all the Croc Bites in the exhibition. You’ll leave with mini croc experts after your visit!

5. Play your way with Croc Games, Quizzes and Trivia:
Put your fresh crocodile knowledge to the test with our trivia game in Croc! Or roll the dice and see who wins the crocodile board game. Think you’re faster than a crocodile? Try ‘Ambush’ the interactive game to see if your child’s reaction time is quicker than a croc’s! Take a break during Croc! to play a game and dial up the fun!

6. Listen to the stories and sounds of crocodiles:
Hear stories and crocodile experiences with the listening speakers throughout the exhibition – kids can hear incredible adventures from people who work with crocodiles, and listen to crocodile children’s stories. Keep an ear out for the cute sounds of baby crocs near the crocodile egg nest.

7. Croc Tot Spot:
Relax in the Croc Tot Spot, a specially designed reading and play corner with editions of ‘No Way Yirrikipayi’, a children’s book about Yirrikipayi the crocodile who lives on the Tiwi Islands, near Darwin. The book is written by children from Milikapiti School, on Tiwi’s Melville Island with award-winning children’s book author, Alison Lester. Read or listen to the audio book in the space as part of your visit.

8. Bite Force – are you stronger than a croc?
Did you know, crocodiles have the strongest bite of any animal on the planet? Stronger even than sharks’! Aggressive and extremely territorial, crocodiles put their powerful bite to good use. Kids can test their strength on our ‘Bite Force’ game to see how they match up against a croc’s bite!

9. First Nations culture and artwork:
Discover amazing artwork, crocodile dance performances, and the unique connections First Nations people have to crocodiles. Croc! gives children the chance to broaden their cultural knowledge and understanding through First Nations stories and amazing crocodile art.

10. Steve Irwin’s khaki’s:
Croc! features the iconic khakis of beloved ‘Crocodile Hunter’, Steve Irwin. The very same shorts, that he used to wear in his documentaries and at Australia Zoo.
